Ok so phones don't sound like that so much anymore, but do you keep your ringtone constant if you get a new phone or change it up regularly? Do you prefer 'phone sounding' ones or a fave song? Have different ones for different people?

I bought a new phone about a month ago and I still don't recognise my ringtone (or the message chime), it's kind of digitally chimey; it feels like too big a commitment to me to pick one song and it kinda cheapens the song for me a bit, but I usually forget to 'unsilence' it after stuff so I don't hear it all that often, so I guess it doesn't matter so much

I NEVER even have my ringer on, so off the top of my head I don’t even know what it sounds like! :giggle

my phone ringer has to sound like an old fashioned phone or I will never hear it. It is very loud and trilly.
my text message is the old time bike bell..the kind you moved the metal and made it ching. It is low, and I love it.
I used to have frogs ribbiting in a pond. But it went on for ever. lol
during the day, I listen to books on audio with a big bluetooth speaker..and it amplifies my ring tone and such also...lol

My ringtone right now is the song Stressed Out by 21 Pilots, and my text tone is Thunder by Imagine Dragons. I very seldom have my ringer on so I don't change them too often, every few months or so. I do like to change them at holidays. For Halloween I use the Halloween movie theme or The Exorcist theme, at Thanksgiving I use Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song, and at Christmas I use the song from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation or Christmas Canon Rock by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I'm like Desi... I never have my ringer on, so I'm not sure if I even know what my ringtone is... plus, anyone who knows me, knows they shouldn't call me... just text. SO.... that ringtone is always the same even when I get a new phone because then I know when I get a text separate from everyone's else's phones in the room. I've never heard anyone else use my ringtone for texts... so it's all mine and unique. :giggle

Ok well now I think I should be cool and seasonal and have fun songs like you! Am I totally behind the times if I admit I don't actually know how to use a song as my ringtone? :helpy

I have no idea what my ring tone is, so most of the time I don't even realize that it is MY phone that is ringing. That being said I hate making or taking calls, so I try to discourage people from calling, :)
My ring tone is some generic thing that came with my phone. I just changed it when I got the phone to the seemingly least annoying sound. And then forgot about it...

My notification sounds is a bell of sorts, which is not too obnoxious.

I'm thinking you have an iPhone, right? If I remember correctly it was much easier to do on an Android phone than an iPhone. I've had an iPhone for probably the last 7 years or so and it's kind of complicated, which is why I don't change them very often lol. You have to first get the song on your phone with iTunes, then I have a Ringtone maker app that lets you crop just a piece of the song for a tone, then you have to get the piece you made back in to iTunes (either the app sends it there or emails it to you and you have to upload it to iTunes), then you have to connect back to iTunes and sync it as a tone. That's why I use the ones I've already made over and over haha. You can buy them directly from the iTunes store, but I'm cheap like that :giggle.

The ringtone on my personal phone (iPhone) is the first few seconds of "Disco Miniature Golfing Queen" from Phineas and Ferb. I don't remember how I put it in originally -- I may have been using iTunes back then -- but now it carries over from phone to phone with my iCloud backup.

My work phone (Samsung Galaxy) is the first few seconds of "At Your Side" by The Corrs. I used a default ringtone on my previous phone, so I don't know if this one will carry over when I upgrade.

Both of these songs were ones that I already had on CD. I used Audacity -- free MP3 editor for my computer -- to get the clips I wanted. The nice thing is that no one ever has the same ringtone as me (which is a really nice thing at work, where we have dozens of open offices in the same room, everyone has either an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy and they all seem to use the same default ringtones. I rarely notice other phones ringing, since they aren't *my* sound.)

I don't have the sound on, but I recognize the way it's vibrating when a call comes in

I got my first iPhone in late 2013 and I have never gotten around to changing the ringtone or text ding from their defaults. I think it's a fun idea, but obviously extremely low priority on my to-do list! For calls, that's probably because I don't actually use my phone as a phone a lot. I prefer texting. And the default text ding is very sensible. Maybe someday I'll get around to changing it though, for fun and so when I'm out and about I'll know right away whether it's MY phone dinging.

I have the old fashioned ring ring sounding tone on my iPhone. I actually cannot stand the sound of a vibrating phone - it drives me nuts for some reason. I usually have it turned way down - unless it is my family or my parents I tend not to answer it anyway. I prefer texting to talking on the phone usually.

I use one of the built in ringers on my phone. It is more like a song than a ring. I have special rings for my husband and kids though. My husband's ring is "Why don't we just dance". If one of my kids calls I usually answer with "hello are you ok" since they normally text me!

My ringer is the old fashion telephone. When my Dad was alive, he was the old car horn.. My brother used to be the harley, and my friend used to be a typewriter but everyone else was the telephone. Now the only one that isn't the phone is my DH.. he put a song in there for me :)

With my husband living 4.5 hours away most of the time right now I always keep my ringer on and also when my kids are out of the house I keep the ringer on in case they need me. I missed something I shouldn't have now, so most the time it is on.

I HAVE to have a ringer type ring. I hate ringtones that are songs n such lol

My ringtone is just something that came with the phone. I can count on one hand the number of people who call me. I might get 2 phone calls a week?

I have it on silent all day at work + from 10 pm - 7 am so even if someone were to call me, chances are good the phone wouldn't ring, anyways.

Stressed Out is one of my favorite songs! LOL

I just have mine on the "classic" iPhone ring - Marimba. I think most people have the same ringtone. Mine hardly ever rings, because almost everybody texts now, so it doesn't matter what mine is. LOL I used to change it to different songs all the time. The last song I used was Maroon 5's "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Mother". LOL

I prefer a fav song.. I've had Ed Sheeran's Shape of You as my ring tone for quite some time now :)

I just kept whatever the default was. My alarm is different. I found a ringtone of beautiful Chinese zither. I love waking up to that.
