JOURNALING READS (over 300 words)
You are the happiest little boy ever, not a care in the world, you have daily issues with life in general but 99% of the time you always have a smile on your face.
Some days can be so hard for you trying to get others to understand what you are trying to say as words and speaking do not come very easy for you, you brain is not wired for talking its more for watching and humming , you can say the odd word or two but nothing that can be clearly said as a word.
We spoke to the SALT team and they say what we have from you is maybe going to be all we will get, we may be able to try and make it more recognisable as words, but you will never be able to sit and have a full blown conversation with us, its hard to deal with as when you was little you did say the normal “mum mum, dad dad, dog cat, botbot etc etc” but by the time you was 2 years old it had all stopped, you even stopped crying, you fell silent.
How I long to hear you say the words “ mummy” again, we do have our little ways of communicating you can now point at things, show me, and even use makaton siging for somethings, but it would still be great to sit and find out how your day at school had been and who you played with and had fun with, I know you like school, the teachers tell me you do, but to sit and have you tell me about your troubles and happy things would mean the world to me, even if you did just say “Oh leave it out mum” I would be the happiest mummy ever. Just because you do not talk, does not mean you do not have any thing to say.
You are my little hero my one of a kind and I will LOVE you always.
