I love how this photo so captures our life during our 2009-2012 term. We took this photo while at our “re-entry’ seminar in Florida. The idea was to prepare us for life in the States again after 3 years away. Little did the company understand just what all we had been through, and what all was in store.

2011 - 2012 were a nightmare for us. The slow self-combustion of our project, followed by a life-threatening situation that required our evacuation to a nearby country, then rounded out with a quick drop into depression and a whole slew of other issues. Yeah, we were on a rickety old canoe in treacherous, crocodile-infested waters. And things just got worse. But thankfully we found help, and made our way back up.

We were just goofing of in this picture, but hindsight makes it poignant.
