Why Late Start Wednesdays

Technology to the rescue!! That does sound frustrating though. What counts as a late start I am curious to know? Schools in most places outside America that I've lived in don't start till 9am

@LynnG Most days of the week my kids start school at 7:45am, but on Wednesdays it's an hour later, so 8:45am.

We always had an early release on some Wednesdays and I hear that more recently, it's every Wednesday. It's ironic that everyone is always talking about helping families (mostly women) with young children and yet the schools are moving in this direction which is so difficult for so many working people (again probably mostly women who pick up the slack).

Ok, getting off the soapbox to say that I LOVE the title work here, all the cute sleepy elements (esp. that adorable owl) and your page theme -- sometimes you just gotta vent!

@dawnmarch yeah, they used to do the late starts, but only on SOME Wednesdays which was worse. Now they do every Wednesday even when they don't need them all just for consistency. It still baffles me how they think parents are supposed to adapt to pick up/drop off kids when they are supposed to be working.

Definitely was a venting page.
