"I’m part of a building that has been many different things. There was always food involved. Last time it was a big barbeque restaurant that lasted a few years. Now I am quite excited because a new group moved in and they are serving Mexican food. The smells are wonderful. I can only imagine what they taste like. They have a special machine for making tortillas. I can see them going around and around.
My favorite times are days like this when someone comes in to celebrate their birthday. Usually they will bring lots of family with them. Everyone laughs and talks but mostly they eat. Sometimes they bring gifts for the birthday girl and I get to watch. The best part comes when it is time for dessert. The waiters gather together and put on their wonderful, colorful masks. They start swinging noise makers as they come out together. Everyone in the building turns to watch as they sing a version of Happy Birthday. I hope tht no one gets scared. They don’t mean any harm. They bring great desserts that you have to eat even though you are quite full.

If you really like the masks, you can find some for sale in the gift shop by the cash register. This young girl, Aly, bought one for her father.
