Almost fifty years ago we lived in Waterloo, Belgium when Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest in April 1974 with the song “Waterloo”. I remember watching the contest on TV and being thrilled that I lived in Waterloo, where Napoleon was defeated. That was the beginning of Abba’s rise to fame and I have loved their music my whole life. [Journaling: 29 January 2024]
