Thanks for this wonderful challenge. Photo scanned from one of my slides of 1983. I think it was mid July.

Ok, so this page first of all is AMAZING! It looks straight out of a magazine amazing and 2nd, I want to sit down with you and hear more about the journey of yours... In China (?) and "hiding" from a delegation of government people? Are you a spy!?!? Archeologist?!?! Sounds intriguing! Walking for months?
This page is gorgeous... Love your photo treatment and the greens, as said above... looks like a magazine page...... hard for me to read the journaling....
@Karen When I was living in China in the early 80's you needed permits to go anywhere and most places out of the way were closed to "foreigners". This meant most of my trips were technically illegal. This was my largest trip where a friend and I hitchhiked through Tibet to Nepal. Hitchhiking was not known or understood really so there was a lot of walking....Oh to be young and healthy again!
wowzers - this is incredible. Love everything about it. the photo is awesome, and they way you've displayed it is stunning. I think I'll be scraplifting this one day.
