the photo is of part of the rout we drive to get from Porto Seguro (were the airport is, actually only got an airport in 1990, until I got there with my husband before we got married, the only way to get there was by bus) to Trancoso, you cross the river in a barge, or you can drive around since the new motorway was built, when Sarita was almost 3 years old, I think it was 1999, but people prefer to do the barge as it cuts driving time/fuel costs. The drive if you cross with the barge is an hour...so, yes, we were in that group that takes the barge!! The views are breathtaking... I miss so much being there ...
