- Dad & Mom , I know you are
struggling, fighting this Goliath which
threatens to divide you.
A life together of over 65 years
seems to be unraveling but you are
eternally joined together and love never fails
even when our minds slip and our bodies sigh.
I know you're both are trying so hard.
I know there are words unspoken. I also
know the God you introduced me to.
Mom, you are like a sunflower trying to
lift your heavy head to find the Son.
But right now, just knowing HE has you
in His hands is what you must cling to.
And Dad, my Rock, my Compass, my
Lighthouse, I know you are wishing for those
days when you led the ministry, felt useful,
and were the mighty “Pepperpot” on the court!
I can only try to imagine how a man must feel
in this situation. But you DO have value,
you do have worth! You are still strong!
You are the one who taught us girls how
to live, and Mom, you taught us how to love.
So I pray the Serenity prayer and wipe the tears,
knowing that He sees you. & He loves you more than I do.
He is there.
