@cfile, thank you. I find it so much easier to be happy with self-portraits when I'm using them on a 6x8 page! Maybe I'll move up to a larger canvas before the end of the year and even see myself as beautiful. Hah! Maybe that's too much info but in my experience it is pretty common...
