Today was really yesterday, it was the end of one of the most trying weeks ever at work. Our company had announced last Friday 8-31-18, they were filing Chapter 11 bankruptsy. I work in the payroll department and we had to deal with phone calls and issues all week. Needless to say my layout says it all without me having to go into any further details.
OH NO?!? what a horrible day...I thought of that children's book and then read your description. Frani? Do you still have a job? oh geez louise!
now that all being said, I am just loving how you poured out the emotions on a page...I mean it is poured out until empty..fabulously
Yes we all still have jobs, I work in payroll that services 6 hospitals and corporate, so we would be some of the last to go. Currently my understanding is Chapter 11, protects the company from creditors while they reorganize the company. From past experience I see lots of layoffs coming down the pike. My frustration is the lack of communication, thus employees are nervous and scared calling payroll to be assured they will still get a pay check.
We had some issues while the banks unfroze our accounts this week and had to redo all the live payroll checks that were deposited after 8/30. Employees were upset because the bank would not accept their paychecks at first. Believe me it was a trying week for all. Hopefully come Monday it's all settled and it will be "business as usual". We'll see!
