@mary kate Thank you Mary Kate.. he was superb.. It was twofold for me.. 1st I have been a fan of Richard's since the 1970's and second as I have always loved to kill a mockingbird so it was a dream come true! Fantastic play!
so i'm probably one of few that hasn't read this or seen the movie or a production of it but 1 or both kids read it during early highschool - what gets me is the cost of your tickets (it's about that to sit at the back of any theatre production here) but i think i assumed stuff like this was cheaper in the US, it's so cost prohibitive for so many to experience the arts in any form (my sister and i were meant to go see a show next month but we canned that after she needed new glasses and her prescription was ridiculously expensive and killed her 'fun budget') - anyhow i'm glad you could splurge and enjoy it and have the memories - love the mix of glitz and arty splatter as well
@bellbird thank you so much Justine!!! Yes tickets here are exorbitant, however that was a cheaper price than most seats were costing for it and it was good seats.. it was the last row in the center of the orange area in my 1st layout. Regarding tickets our theatre was also running a lottery for $25 tickets which I thought was so neat too. We have not been to the theatre in almost 40 years!
When I lived on Long Island NY (a train ride into New York City) I saw a few on Broadway, but that was like I said, 40 or more years ago.. here for concerts and even the crazy Superbowl Game of today, the ticket prices are nutty.
I didn't see this as a problem for us this time as we don't exchange Christmas gifts or anything. This is a favorite story for me and such so we decided to splurge and said ooh Christmas gift LOL... anyway, it was a grand day all around and I loved it!!!
Yesterday hubby found the original movie on Public Broadcast Service so we watched the movie from 1962! Now for me to dig out my books on Harper Lee again!

@cfile, me too! As a young girl growing up in Ottawa, Canada in the 1970s, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to locate the state of Virginia on a map, but I had a massive crush on Richard Thomas as John-Boy Walton! I love to hear that he is doing serious theatre, I think he is a class act
