Journaling:

Back in 2010, we were living with my parents as my husband was unemployed and we had lost our home. We were pretty destitute and were on food stamps. One day I went to the store to buy dinner and the card did not work, and we did not have any food in the house. Our daughter was with me and she cried and said, “Momma, what are we going to eat for dinner then??” I tried to call my husband and see if he had changed the password but I couldn’t get a hold of him. I told the cashier we would have to leave the food. and I was in tears myself. She reached over to the side of her register and before I could say anything, she swiped a card and paid for our dinner. I tried to tell her I couldn’t take it but she said “Your daughter needs to eat.” I hugged her and thanked her and told her I would like to bring her something tomorrow - so what was her name. She said “Anne”. The next day I brought her flowers from our garden but she wasn’t there. I asked the manager where she was and he told me that he had no employee named Anne! I described her and he said again that he didn’t know who I was talking about, but there was no one named Anne that worked there. Sobered, I went home and told Michael what had happened. We both believe we were helped by an Angel. So, now that we are on our feet, we try to find opportunities to be Anne to someone else in need.

That is an amazing memory! I, too, believe I was helped by angels one day when stranded on I-5 in Oregon with a flat tire and no spare...this was way before cell phones. Two gentlemen, quietly and serenely, drove me to the nearest exit for help. They said nothing as I sat between them in the cab of the pick-up. It was so peaceful and there was no sense of fear. Thanks for sharing this with us...I love the sketched hands!

Wow, what an amazing story and such a blessing. I love that you continue to pay it forward. This hits me in the feels this morning.

What a heartfelt story! It's beautiful how you've turned that moment into a mission to help others...

One of God's little mysteries. So glad you got to witness it and be a part of it. thanks for sharing it with us.
