Let me tell you a story about Anna & Louis.
During WWI, Anna's family had to flee Geluwe.
They ended up in Gooik. There they found shelter with a widow, Florentina, and her 4 children, the youngest of which was Louis.
In the photo you see Anna and Louis both holding Florentina's hand.
Both families became close friends and kept in touch after the war.
Florentina married Anna's uncle and so the bond became even closer.
Anna and Louis knew each other very well and fell in love.
They married in 1934 and had 7 children together.
Their second child was my mom, Suzanne.
So Anna and Louis are my grandparents.
