My grandparents Juliette and Remy died in a car accident when I was only ten years old. Sadly, I never knew them very well because we lived in Germany at the time and they lived in Belgium and we did not visit very often…
Twenty years later I was working as a nurse in home care and I visited a patient to dress her wounds. She said to me: “Oh, you just look just like my childhood friend from back home”.
I asked her where she came from and it was the same town my grandmother grew up in! When I told her my grandmothers name, she said it was her.
Sadly, she could not tell me very much about her because she had memory problems, but I was happy to learn my grandmother was a very sociable and happy person.
