The challenge encourages looking at small, often overlooked detail that hold meaning for you but may be otherwise hidden for others.
Here is my journaling to add context to how this challenge could be approached . . .
“At first glance, this photo might look like a simple moment—just two children playing quietly at the table. But it’s so much more. Mackenzie is deeply focused on playing with her cars, while Keaton is busy with his trading card game. What might not be obvious is the incredible effort it takes for Keaton to stay calm and share space like this, given his challenges as a neurodivergent child. This moment makes my heart so happy because it’s a glimpse of progress, strength, and a really good day. To anyone else, it might seem like just another ordinary moment, but to me, it means so much”.
To add more context to my page I added the ‘this doesn’t come easy’ word piece and from text fragments I ensured that the words ‘frantic’ and ‘answered’ were visible, marking an ‘x’ next to frantic as that’s our common. The ‘answered’ signifying the success, or win for that ‘good day’.
I entitled my page ‘this is a gift’ - not taking anything for granted and living in the present moment and with whatever challenges we are presented with.
