Created for the ‘These Moments Matter’ Month of Challenges by Pixels, Paper and Paint - Life in Pictures by Lynn and Rachel - Challenge Prompt #12 'Inside Joke'
Thanks to my 'old soul' energy I earnt the nickname ‘Doris’ from my Godmother and Mum when I was a child.
It started as a playful inside joke, a nod to my quirky mannerisms, and somehow it stuck. Over the years, "‘Doris’ (or the slightly cheekier ‘Dozza’) became a family staple, a name my Mum and sister still use to this day.
While the joke occasionally wore thin—especially when DORIS was bellowed dramatically across a busy supermarket aisle to my utter embarrassment—it was always delivered with affection and plenty of laughs.
I didn’t have a childhood photo of myself to hand for this page so I used this fun paper tag with the perfect eye roll type and ‘ugh really’ expression from Hear My Voice in place of a photo.
aww.. beautiful page, Rachel. Love the clean style here and it's focus on your nickname. Gosh I disliked hearing my "full" name (first/middle) when I was in the store with my Mom.. LOL.. now my DH will do that if we are in the store and I wander off and he can't find me.. he says first and middle names as he knows that gets under my skin LOL... Sweet story. (My cousin is named Doris and growing up her nickname was "Dodie" and your page brought me back to that!) Love your page Rachel! Great cluster and I love the mix for the title with the large alpha D with font for the rest!
Ha Ha so funny - when my mum or godmother used to do this to me in the store I was old enough to be allowed to wander off and I used to zip off and pretend I wasn't with them or didn't know them ha ha - so sweet I brought back memories for you. Thank you for the lovely comments xo
