I am truly blessed to have Terri and Mike in my life. They are such a wonderful couple and such great friends to both Serena and me. They have been a part of so many stages of my life and I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.
I met Mike first, when I was a junior in high school. He was a sophomore. We met at an Operation Snowball event at EPHS. We just clicked and our friendship started immediately. He lived almost an hour away so we didn’t get to see each other much but we kept in touch after the event and he was always so much fun to hang out with when we could.
A few years later I met Terri. We met in a class at UIC. She quickly became one of the most important people in my life. She is one of the kindest people I have ever known. She and I would have hours long conversations about absolutely everything.
In 1996 or 1997 I had a party at my apartment and I introduced them. I desperately wanted to play matchmaker to them but knew if I did they might not respond well. So I introduced them and left them alone. A few short years later they were married and starting a family!
Throughout the years we have remained good friends and get to spend time with them every couple of months. Terri has been there for me for so many difficult times and so many happy times, never judging, always supporting, offering words of wisdom when I need it and offering comfort at just the right times.
These two people are some of the most important people in my life.
