Journaling reads:

i watch the progression of this sweet face as it gets whiter and whiter over the years, and i know your time with us is short. it’s not something i want to think about, but most days it’s staring right at me and i can’t ignore it. so i push it to the back of my mind and enjoy the time we have. the cuddles and kisses, the way you tilt your head when i talk to you, the way you wag your tail in your sleep.
