One day this past week when we went for our walk, we chose to go a different way than usual. It was about an hour and a half before dark, but that was plenty of time to walk Olive and Charlie. As we made it around the third lake at Patrick’s, I noticed Davis and Erynn standing watching something, and motioning for Reed and I to look - the entire back cypress stand in the lake was filled with white egrets, roosting for the evening. As we made our way there, they were still settling in, flying from tree to tree to make it inward to the most protected area in the trees before the weather cooled for the night. The birds stayed where they were as we made our way around the lake to finish our walk, and the setting sun and the unexpected surprise of the flock made a beautiful sight. January 2016
Great layout and storytelling! That must have been quite the amazing sight and cool that you were able to witness it and catch a photo. Thanks for participating in the challenge!
