Journaling Reads: One year ago, you were born and Anika was there. Anika had lived with us since that June after her Mom sent her to live with us. At the time you were born, we thought that our family of four was now complete. Your sister loved you alot and tried really hard to take care of you. She would carry you around, sing and dance for you. I think if we had let her, she wouldve tried to bath you. She was very excited when we would let her change your diaper, and she would make slings out of blankets and carry her stuffies in them like daddy carried you in the cuddly wrap. Before you were born, she would ask about you constantly. For example how long before i can take the baby on the slide! Then your daddy went back to Trail for mediation over child support. And Anikas mommy decided at this point that Anika would not be able to stay with us forever. She wanted anika to move to Trail in a year. We had to make the hard decision to give anika some stability since we were moving to Edmonton in a few months. Anika had been moving back and forth between Calgary and Trail and we didnt want that for her. We wanted her to grow her roots and feel comfortable where she was. We wanted her to wake up knowing that she was home. So the hard choice was to have her move back to Trail at spring break since she had only been gone for 8 months. We thought that way she wouldnt have been gone too long to just fit back in where she was before she was moved. We miss her alot, but had to make choices that were the best for her whether you kids understand it right now or not. We love you both and sometimes adult decisions are hard.
Although it may not make sense to you or her now or in the future, but all of these decisions were agonized over and made with both of your best intrests at heart.
