The Little Things Mean the Most

I love our little adventures together. Every little mili-second with you. Today was a special Kai, Mommy and Eric outing. We went to the local park by the river, the one that you love. You can’t get enough of the fresh air there and there is a lot of room for you to run about. Mommy was smart and brought a huge loaf of old bread and stale chips for us to feed the ducks. We had a swarm of about 50 or more ducks around us at one time, a little overwhelming for a little man like you with sensory needs. You were over loaded and started stimming something horrible. I felt so bad. I held you close in my arms as I did when you were little to calm you and helped you feed the ducks hand over hand until you felt comfortable enough to do it on your own. You gave me that smile of yours, a special way of saying thank you without words. It was a magical moment between us. And we enjoyed the rest of the day in the beautiful fall sunshine.
