i may be looking at food and event pages in the gallery and found this - i just want to comment on how committed you guys are that you'll go out in what looks like a snowy yard to fry a turkey (no way i'd be doing that!) in what appears like it would be quite the spectator sport and i hope you ran a risk assessment - (surely deep frying turkeys creates a whole influx of burns admissions in US hospitals every Nov!) but i love the blocking here and how you decked out all the spots!
@bellbird Lol! Yeah, it is a little weird to think about going out in the snow to cook the turkey, but the yard is definitely the safer place to do it! It does spatter oil a little bit when you first put it in, but the juicy and delicious taste of the turkey cooked this way is definitely worth it! You can cook the whole thing in just over an hour as opposed to 4-6+ hours for oven baking it! So far, knock on wood, we haven't had any burns thanks to the long pole my hubby made for lowering it in from a safe distance.
@Karen lol I did wonder if that was a repurposed limbo stick. I can see how the timesaving would justify or offset some of the risk, glad no injuries were sustained in the production of this meal.
