(I photographed my cat in a black cubby. He wasn't thrilled to be put in it and it was hard to get my camera in there, but you can see the background in the larger photo in the upper right corner.)

This is great. I actually tried to shoot my dog for this challenge but couldn't get her to stay still. You got some good shots! I love how you can see the detail of his wiskers.
