Sunshine is a medicine to me, or like air or food,
I need it. I luxuriate in it. Even when it hits
me in the eye, it still makes me smile.
It has recently occurred to me that light has an
amazing power to move one’s spirit, be it candle-
light, festive holiday lights, a flashlight in a
dark place, a fragrant campfire light, or the most
profound, warm sunlight. And,all this emotion moving,
soothing or energizing power happens without a sound.
The light, and really even the warmth come silently.
Like a smile.
