The journaling says:
It may be called Sunset Beach, but SUNRISE by the
shore is the best part of the day. I would never
willingly get up BEFORE the sun at home, but somehow rising early
to see the sun come up over the OCEAN feels like a perfect way to wake up.

This is a tradition MICHAEL introduced me to on our first trip together.
Some mornings he goes down with just his mom, keeping the tradition
she started when he was little. Other mornings he walks alone
while I sleep in with the boys and we join him on his walk back.
But most MORNINGS we each strap a little one on our backs
and make the walk to the end of the island TOGETHER.

We’ve spotted deer, rabbits, dolphins,
and other early morning creatures,
and get to breathe in the quiet
before everyone else wakes up.
The beach is usually completely EMPTY except for an early
morning runner or two, and this is often when we find
the BEST shells.

These walks have become some of our most treasured memories. HELLO, Sunrise!
