Journaling Reads~
Nothing earth shattering but I thought I'd write it down...
Yesterday Auntie Kim brought Sophie back from a sleep over and she and I were chatting on the couch. Sophie leans over and stage whispers in my ear "mama, all I I had to eat for hours is some popcorn." I stop yapping for long enough to pat her and say "Oh my goodness! Just popcorn!" and then carry on with talking. Sophie gave me a withering look and spoke up loudly (like I was a bit s l o w) "Yes, just popcorn. My point being is that I'm HUNGRY." I looked at Kim and said "did she just say 'my point being'???" We were dying.
The other day in the doctors office we were killing time playing "I Spy" and Sophie said, "Ha ha, I win! You loose!" I told her that wasn't nice at all and she shouldn't say that. She contested that it was fine to say and I challenged her with "When is it ever fine to say that? When would saying "haha I win you loose!" make someone feel warm or happy or special?" Quick as a flash she said triumphantly, "When someone wants you to win, mama!"
Last week I busted her getting into the candy. She said, "Mama, how did you know I was
getting into the candy?" and I told her "Because Mama knows everything." She scoffed and
said, "You don't know everything, Mama." I
said I did too and she said, "I know one thing you don't know." and I asked her what it was.
She replied, "You don't know how much I love you." .........I gave the girl some candy.
