I love my tattoos. There’s shock value and/or prejudices associated with them, for some reason. Some people tend to show their true colors without even realizing...others are quite blunt...and a small minority compliment them. When I lived in New York, things were different. Everyone seems to have tattoos, up there...it was more surprising if you didn’t have ink. I have to admit...I seem to find myself surprised, when I see another female with a sleeve...because it’s so rare around here.

That's a great sleeve! What a cool use of that kit and I love the scatter and page beneath the photo.
I remember my mom telling me not to get a tattoo cuz "no good place" would hire me (yup, a single tattoo on my shoulder was going to "ruin" my career chances lol). Sorry, not trying to make this about me! Your journaling just brought that back.
@Tree City love hearing your story. When I was growing up, my Dad used to tell me to never bring a boy home with piercings or tattoos...lol. As for work...I am retired from the Department of Justice. I wore suits...so they covered up my sleeve. When I knew I was going to retire, I started “sporting” my ink.
@bjc Thank you. Yes, I lived in NYC for sixteen years. I go back frequently to visit my three older kids (in their late twenties) and my new granddaughter. I’ve lived many places.
