What a gorgeous bird shot, Marilyn! So beautiful and you scrapped this so well with the mix of background papers to mimic a quilt.. just fabulous!

@cfile Thanks, Christa. We had a bit of snow earlier this week and the birds went crazy. Common grackle are not common this time of the year, so I wonder if they were just passing through... Regardless, this guy was perched on the hook that hangs a couple of feeders. It was almost like it was posing for me.

@mcurtt between grackles and starlings and crows here the birds are crazy too... I think because the weather is up and down they do not know which end is up and they might not have migrated to warmer climates yet since the fall and winter cold is not all here yet! Glad you are enjoying the birds longer than normal this year. I love watching them for sure, but the colors on your grackle here are so vibrant! Beautiful!

@cfile I was amazed with the colors as well. Their body color usually appears much darker. I even did a Google image search just to be sure it was a grackle. I love its eye.

@mcurtt yes they are usually darker towards the blacker side of blue but this pops!
