Sea-Turtle

JOURNALING: Top Tag: Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Columbus OH. Grotto shared by Sea Turtle and Koi topiary and real Koi. Journal Strip: Focusing on endangered animals, “Wild Wonders” was a topiary exhibit at the Park from May 20 thru October 29, 2017. Bottom Tag: Three different plants form the shell and body of the green sea turtle. A total of 307 plants cover this topiary. Journaling Block: Green Sea Turtles are found in tropical and sub-tropical waters, live up to 80 years and weigh up to 700 lbs. They are herbivores, eating mostly grasses and algae. The species is endangered because many are accidentally killed by fishing nets and boat propellers, they are poached for eggs and meat, and they face a loss of nesting sites due to human development of beaches.
