Created for RACHEL'S MIXED MEDIA CHALLENGE MARCH 2026
Description
JOURNALING: Last year, whenever a client wouldn’t follow through, answer an email, sign a form or get back to us, I started saying, “What is WRONG with people?” This phrase popped up all the time, and became a most-often repeated phrase in the office. It didn’t apply to just clients...it could be to a story we saw on social media, talking about family, politics, the world in general: What is WRONG with people? So, for Christmas, though Bruce and Cheyenne got us each a very lovely gift, Cheyenne got us both a “gag gift.” Adelya got a puzzle box that I think she and her husband are still trying to open, and got me this “easy” button already loaded with Cheyenne saying, “What is WRONG with people?” It was the funniest, most thoughtful gift I’d received in a long time. Just the idea that someone noticed I was saying this a lot and thought it was funny and endearing meant so much. Now I don’t have to say it, I can just push the button. And sometimes, we push it a lot!

Bwhaha thanks to @AnneofAlamo being bossy this was a great story that i enjoyed because you told it so well (and unfortunately that button preloaded with your quote would totally be a best seller in this world, and not as a gag gift really!) Amazing mixed media and colour use too!

She was bossy over there in the Froggy Faves forum, wasn't she!?! LOL I've actually had clients ask what the red button is for. I only tell clients that don't irritate me! LOL I think a lot of them have said they could use that button, too. I personally need one for my car, too....cuz traffic.

It is a story beautifully told, I am glad you have a button for it, I have it going on in my head on a loop some days. Love the palette too, adds to the drama

I would have bashed that button at least every 5 minutes. I managed a Call Centre - many complaints that were totally insane. “What is WRONG with people?” is totally accurate. Love the use of the red. Sometimes our working days are taken up with dealing with whingers & bitchers. But then we get to scrap about it. LOL

Worked for Royal Caribbean's call center in Oregon for 10.5 years...oh how I know! I needed that button back then for sure! Might have spared my keyboard that got pounded on many times!

Love the story behind this and I just absolutely love how you included the button in your art journaling/mixed media page. Fantastic with the B&W and red.

What a fun and creative page with great journaling! I love the extracted button and the flow of your layout. Congrats on the FF! ... when you commented on my recent page about Coco Cay, I had no idea that you'd worked for RC (you probably have a lot of slogans in your arsenal)! :heartlub
