Another terrific vintage photo. You are so blessed to have this of your family. You & your sister (I'm assuming) look so much alike. The journaling is too small for me to read so except for you and your mom, I'm not sure who is who. Love the sunflower and the yellows in this layout.
@flowersgal Now that you mention it, Joy (my brother's wife) does look a bit like me. It had to be the 80's hair. LOL. Joy passed away about 10 years after this pic was taken.

This photo was taken at my mother’s new home on October 9, 1988. Ray & Joy were visiting from Florida. Uncle Ted was in town as well. Also pictured are Mom, John & me, and my brother Joe. The three siblings are together along with their spouses.
Gone were so many important people in my life, the people that I shared a childhood home with: my grandparents, Uncle Max, Uncle Stan, my Dad.
Mom was happy to be in her new home. The one she had lived in since she was seven was no longer a safe haven for her. The neighborhood had grown increasingly dangerous, and when shotguns were fired a few houses down, everyone knew it was time to leave. Unfortunately Dad passed away just weeks before the move, so while he participated in the search and found the home he was going to share with his wife and son, he never was able to enjoy it. Mom lived in her “doll house” for thirteen years until her passing in 2000.
I am such a fan of heritage pages, and you have done such a beautiful job with this one. Love the vintage photo, and your use of the paper strips add great vertical flow. Thanks for sharing your journaling. It was so interesting to read, and I love that you have documented this story.
