Journaling reads: October 2, 2016 - a distant memory of a distant land.. We were walking down the only road of a small community called Goleszów, 140 km east of Kraków. It was a Sunday, the day after Rafał & Joanna’s wedding, the reason we were in Poland. Our destination this day was the local cemetery to pay respects to my ancestors who were buried there. Now this all seems like a dream, the opportunity to meet cousins I had never met, traveling to the country of my ancestors. Thanks to Facebook, I do keep in touch with my cousins, but it just isn’t the same as being there, attempting to talk in sign language when none of us understands the other, being able to laugh with them, to dine with them. One day we will see each other again...
