Eric and I are spur of the moment kind of people and one weekend in 2017 we decided to take a weekend trip the Chicago. We loaded up the van and made quick reservations at a hotel and off we went. Eric collects toys, and we made a lot of pit spots at Walmarts, Targets and other shops along our way. While we were parked in one parking lot eating our lunch we got the surprise of our lives. One moment we were peacefully enjoying our sub sandwich we had just bought at Walmart and the next moment we were surrounded by Chicago PD! We were questioned for over a half an hour on where we came from, what we were doing in this location and our plans for the day. Both Eric and I are not criminals what so ever and had to hand over our IDs, and they even took our license plate number. I guess this Walmart we had stopped at was known for the drug trade and people from out of town often come there to buy hardcore drugs! They thought since me and Eric were parked in the back of the parking lot and from Wisconsin we were there to buy some crack or something! It took quite come convincing that we were just on a little trip for the weekend and rest assured not there to buy drugs. Finally, we were let go to continue on our trip, but a little scared.
The rest of the weekend was quite uneventful. We saw some great Chicago sites, spent quality time together enjoying each other's company and just soaking up all Chicago has to offer. Eric picked up some goodies for his collection and I even got some new Blue Willow items for my own collection. We stayed at an amazing hotel and got some great eats we can't find around us.
Wow! love everything about this page, especially how you paired the gorgeous photos and the journaling, those kind of trips are really fun. Great use of the use of the word art, washi tape and the blend, brilliantly done!
