Journaling: Stunning weather today for Sara’s expedition - a bushwalk at Pt. Addis. We joined two walks together, the Koori Interpretative Walk followed by the Ironbark Track. It was hard to slow the kids down long enough for them to read the information signs and I was soon trailing along behind as I photographed the many wildflowers in bloom along the track. We almost missed the turn to the clifftop path but mum spiec the TIGER SNAKE BREEDING AREA sign that we needed to turn left at. The path gradually became rougher. One large section was badly washed out, in another the bushes either side closed in on the track and we had to push our way through. We missed the side track to the lookout but luckily I turned around just before the top and snapped a quick photo. The poor upkeep of the track all made sense when we reached the T-intersdection at the end of the track, turned around and saw the TRACK CLOSED sign. A rather long steep, but well-maintained track followed before a flat run to the Ironbark carpark. Lunches were unpacked and mum and I left the kids with Jez, eating our lunch while walking the 2km back along the road to pickup our cars. We feared the kids would not make it back through the winding 3.5km bush track,. Cars collected we picked up Jez and the kids, refilled water bottles, ate every last scrap of food we’d packed, before driving to the Point to admire the view, wondering about the massive plume of smoke rising from the bush behind Anglesea. A quick stop at the pretty average drop toilets (even the boys were disgusted) before parking the cars back where we began so the kids could enjoy the stunning beach (keeping well down the non-cklothing-optional end). Ruby, Gus, Ethan and Coops all had a thigh high paddle in the very cold water.
That was one adventure! I love how your journaling becomes a part of the artistic touch of the page. The bits you add and the colors are just lovely! Long walk and great memories captured. Thank you so much for playing along too, it is fun to see your page!
This photo is amazing and I love all of the journaling. You were featured in today's TLP blog post... https://the-lilypad.com/spy-little-eye/ .
