journaling: Sharon emailed to let Liz and I know she had some Mitchell treasures to pass on to us. I went and picked up a load of stuff in June and one of those items was a painting called “Pirates Alley” Sharon didn’t know who painted it or where it came from. It didn’t match my decor, so I donated it to Goodwill. Fast forward to December when we went back and got a pile of Grandpa’s old photos which Liz scanned. In that stack there was a batch from New Orleans in 1959 and there were two pictures of an artist painting the Pirates Alley painting! What are the odds of both the painting AND these photos making their way to us within a few month’s time?!?!?
