When you were real young all you wanted was a pink poodle. You asked for a pink poodle for your birthday, for Christmas and whenever you got a chance. It was your dream, your only desire. Your mommy and daddy searched high and low for a pink poodle for you, always coming up short handed until one day. Your father and I were at a local garage sale and that is where we spotted it. A pink poodle stuffed dog! Your father rushed over to grab it, but sadly some other lady picked it up before him. We begged and begged the lady for the 25 cent stuffed creature for you. We told her about your wish and how much it would mean to our three year old child at home. She would not budge. We were at our wits end. Finally your father offered her $25 for the stuffed animal. Way more than it was priced for! The lady finally gave in. The pink puppy was ours. I still remember the look on your face when we brought that stupid pink poodle home that afternoon. I don’t think I have ever seen you more excited in your whole life. You thanked us over a billion times and said you promised to love it forever. You named that pink poodle, Kniffle, after your favorite food. Every day and every night that pink poodle was in your sight. Years down the road, it is still one of your favorite toys. You have grown up quite a bit since then, but that pink poodle has been by your side. You sleep with Kniffle almost nightly, even at slumber parties. And when we left our home and had to leave behind all our possessions you cried for months when it was not by your side. Recently I fought your father hard in court to have all your items returned to you. In the box he gave back was your prized Kniffle. Oh what joy it was when you were finally returned to your beloved pink poodle! And once again you promised to love it forever.
