Journaling reads:
My grandmother was a young woman during the depression. Most of that era carried frugality through their lives, including her. My aunts tell the story of how my grandmother used these miniature pie pans to use up any leftover scraps of dough and filling when making pies. She would then add these tiny pies to Grandpa’s lunch. My grandmother taught me to cook and bake. I understand that acts like this weren’t just about being thrifty, but also about love. She passed on to me that food is a way to show love. She would often make mini pies for the grandkids, each one different and reflective of personal favorites. I was blessed to inherit these small pans and keep them close, where I can see them and be reminded to add some love into my baking.
Lori, this is so beautiful! I love the photo of your Grandmother's minature pie pans and the story behind them. Your photo is perfection with the little blueberries in the pans and on the table with the yellow tablecloth that you matched perfectly to the papers. Wow! I love the composition of your page and the reading of your journaling. What a story those little sweet pans have. Your page really warms my heart and I can hear the love flowing from your journaling. What a treasure! Thank you for sharing and for playing along with the MOC11 Day 7 Heirloom Challenge!
