Photos, poetry mine. Font: Butter, Brot, Papier.
In these photos you will not see
the blue heron winging across the lake
with hoarse, offended warnings of monsters
because I stepped out from the mossy tree-cave
at the side of the road. You will not see
the ducks - merganser, and mallards, and even a white one -
streaming vees away from the water-weeded shore.
No frogs. No small fish. No moose, especially
since they don't live here. Nothing to see.
Perhaps some barren branches bearded in pale cotton.
Dried rattles, maybe, shivering blond with last year's sun.
Branches strung with dark beads, pods hollow, seeds eaten.
You will not see me, my shadows, my careful steps,
my long years, the waters of sorrow,
the wait for life to stand still
for just one click.
Your journalling is beautiful and so moving. I had a place like this for many years. I hope that it is easier for you now. The photos are real and page is just perfect!
