I've always been an introvert. I'll choose an empty house and a good book over a social activity any day. Quiet time alone is how I relax, decompress and clear my head. So one of my biggest challenges in being a single mom is dealing with the lack of quiet time I get for myself. Ironically, Connor ended up with the exact opposite personality and he thrives off social interaction. Translation: Yak, yak, yak all the time!
Don't get me wrong. I love my kids. I wouldn't trade them for anything. If they are away from home for any more than a night I miss them terribly. But sometimes I need a break from all the noise and talking and chaos that comes along with having kids. Sometimes....I could really use some PEACE AND QUIET.
