What a great lesson learned! You need to help me parent - my 5 year doesn't have chores and he breaks things all the time without any monetary consequences. He has a lot of money in his piggy bank and next time I think I will make him "pay" for things he loses or breaks. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing.
