@mcurtt That's sad. We hosted a student from Paris once. We kept in touch with the family for quite awhile, then it dwindled off. It's hard to keep a relationship like that going. They could barely speak English and we only knew a tiny bit of French communicating was difficult. The girl spoke fairly good English, but she was kind of weird and preferred to spend time with the other French kids who were in town.
@Cherylndesigns We hosted 3. A boy from Italy, a girl from Germany, and Yoshiko. We still keep in touch with Germany. John was an exchange student back in in 1966 to Sweden. While his host parents are both gone now, we still keep in touch with his host brother and sister. We were able to visit the family before the parents passed. John was so happy we made the effort. And his host brother visited us a few years ago. We usually communicate at Christmas.
@mcurtt That's wonderful! I don't know why we fell out of touch. We even sent pictures back and forth for a number of years. I think it was the language barrier. They were big skiers and we didn't ski. They always wanted us to join them on ski trips to The Alps.
