It is funny how fate brings things into your life when you need them most. Eric and I met in May of 2013 on Craigslist of all places. I wasn't really looking for anything as I was coming out of a rough 10-year marriage. I stumbled upon an add called "Something Real" that really grabbed my attention. Reading through it I was drawn to respond.
After over a month of emailing back and forth and getting to know each other, Eric and I decided to meet for the first time on a real date. We decided to meet at a local swimming pool. I was quite nervous the day we were supposed to meet. I sat in the parking lot of the pool and waited. Soon this guy came walking up to my van. The first thoughts racing through my head were "OMG what a dork". Eric was dressed in his swim trucks and a super man tee shirt. I almost pulled away. But fate had something else in store for us. I got out of my car, and we enjoyed the day swimming.
Eric was so easy to get along with. It was like we had known each other for years. Our date went so smooth, except for Eric getting burnt. We did not want the day to end. So after swimming we went to BA Burrito where we got dinner and sat in the parking lot talking till dark. Then we went to his place and watched a movie. I could have not asked for a better first date.
After our first date me and Eric became an item. We literally spent every free moment together. Eric had become a great support in a short period of time. God must have known I needed someone like him to help me through the tough times. Eric was there to help me through the worst periods of my life and finally bring a smile back to my face.
Throughout the years we have grown closer. We have grown together as a couple. He has become a father figure to my children. And we have experienced many adventures in life together.
Eric and I knew we were meant to be together from early on in our relationship. We actually had a few conversations about marriage in the first four months of the relationship, but we wanted to wait till the perfect moment. It wasn't until late 2020 that we decided it was truly the perfect and right time to settle down and become one. And than on Oct 8th, 2022 we in front of all our family in friends in a small ceremony we finally said I do and forever became one.
