Description
The vaulted tunnel leads into the stadium. The Stadium had seats for 40,000 to 45,000 spectators. TThe track was made of hard-packed clay to serve as traction for running events. The white block was used to align the athletes at the starting line. The Hippodrome (which no longer exists) was just south of the Stadium and was used for horse and chariot races.
