*photo by me and with blending modes I aged the photo and used a canvas brush to blend into the bg paper.. the stamp I made using a stamp shape in PS, then I used my photo from the layout and resized it adhering it to the stamp shape, added the info and the cancellation mark I had from years ago.* TFL

"Cape Henry Lighthouse is the first federally funded public works project of the newly formed United States government. It was authorized by George Washington and overseen by Alexander Hamilton. The Lighthouse is situated near the “First Landing” site where English settlers first set foot on their way to settle in Jamestown. Built with the same Aquia sandstone as much of Washington, D.C, the lighthouse guided sea travelers to safety for almost 100 years. It was also the first federal construction project under the Constitution, for an original contract amount of $15,200. Built in 1792. A second lighthouse was built and completed in 1881 (b/w) a short distance away after concern arose about the stability of the first. Both towers of the light station were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970."
