Journaling Reads-
I booked ‘Ohana for dinner our first night. The meal we had here in 2013 was a major bust, but we decided to give it another try. When we had to wait a while for a table we were expecting it to be much the same, but boy were we wrong -it wound up being one of the best meals of the trip!! From the server, to the food, to the perfect firework view - faultless!
Not only was the food much better this time around but our server was awesome, totally made the whole meal much more enjoyable. It started with me asking if we could get Lei’s and she told me to ask the entertainer. I responded with “Oh, that’s ok, she looks a little scary” which had her in kinks, after that we were her #1 table. She brought us all Lei’s, got us extra drinks, cracked jokes with us and made sure we got the freshest meat (and LOTS of it).
When we were led to our table I felt a little teary. We were sitting in the perfect table to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. As soon as the music started I spun around to see the most fantasic view of Hallowishes. It was the perfect start to our trip!!
The food was never ending and sooooo yummy!! Firstly we had a salad with a Lilikoi dressing. I have no idea what Lilikoi is but it was pretty darn good for a salad! We also had a helping of pineapple coconut bread but none of us found this to be all that tasty, despite the huge buzz about it. Then came my favourites!!! The pork dumplings - sooo good, I think I ate my body weight of them. Along with the honey coriander wings, which everyone seemed to enjoy. The side dishes came next, some sticky rice, lots of stir-fried veggies and some delicious teriyaki noodles. Then it was time for the main event- the skewers! We had a bit of a wait on our hands before they arrived but they were soo worth it - we had lots of helpings of chicken, steak and prawns. Mam joked that she could eat a full skewer of prawns to herself and that’s exactly what she got given... It was so funny to watch her struggle her way through them all. We were all soo stuffed by the time she brought us the bread pudding dessert. We only managed a couple of mouthfuls each, still, it tasted amazing! ‘Ohana is now definitely on the list of one’s to beat!!!
I love your page and your journaling! The evening sounds incredible and what a great way to start your vacation indeed! I love that you included so many details and really shared the feelings and events of the night - this will be so wonderful to look back on years from now. And the pictures accompanying your story are terrific. Thanks for participating in the challenge!
