Oh my goodness Jen! I have many tears rolling down my cheek reading this beautiful story. It sounds like your parents were split - but I am moved by the fact that he said that quote to you - what a gift of love and kindness to match those perfect boat days (his time with you) to the love for your mother. He sounds like an amazing selfless man! Both my brothers have boats and while I don't get to go out too often (different states) the times I do get to hit the water are so special and enjoyable - I get it! Happy birthday to your beautiful father, I'm so sorry you lost him, but he lives on in everything he gave and taught you to cherish. This page is so unbelievably beautiful and moving, well done!
