Journaling:
Missing out on the rides this trip really wasn't that big of a deal for me for the large part. After all, I've ridden them before and I'll likely ride them again - that wasn't the case with Flights of Passage though. That ride was new, new to all of us and was being heralded as the best Disney has done, a high bar to reach. Even leading into our trip I was gutted I was going to miss it. As our Fastpass time approached, Phill told me that he wasn't going to ride it either, we always rode new rides together and he will wait until next trip so we can ride it for the first time together. It was so sweet of him but I wasn't about to let him miss out, it took a bit of convincing but I managed to get him to ride with the others. I was a little bummed out while I waited, I needed the rests more than usual anyway but this was the only time I waited for them over an hour - and that was WITH fastpass. After a while of waiting I decided to make the most out of it and went and treat myself to Pandora's signature drink the Night Blossom (Apple and Pear Limeade topped with Passion Fruit Boba Balls) and try their signature snack the Pongu Lumpia (Pineapple Cream Cheese Spring Roll). I was craving sugar and the drink definitely hit the spot. The snack was just so-so but I finished every last morsel of the drink, it was delicious - and that coming from someone who isn't a fan of sugary sweet things. I especially loved the Boba Balls, they made a great addition to the drink. And what's more, because I was enjoying it so much and taking selfies by “The Moss Wall” the time started to pass by MUCH quicker. Once I'd finished I had a quick look around the shop and then I only waited by the ride exit for around 5 minutes and they were done. They LOVED the ride, they tried to downplay it to he at first so I wouldn't feel bad for missing it but I could see straight through them. They all agreed it was one of the best rides at Disney, and next trip we’ll see if I agree with them.
Such a great page - I really enjoyed your journaling and the idea of documenting missing out. I would have been bummed as well to not be able to ride something new. I'm assuming it's because you are expecting, though??
@ashleywb yep I was 6 months pregnant with my twins at the time. So no intense rides. I still found other ways to enjoy the trip though and just rode Haunted Mansion and Pirates back to back... they are my favourites anyway
