Journaling Reads: We spent the day on Roanoke Island and one of the places we visited was the Visitor Center. The kids loved it! It was a nice break from the hot sun, too. They got to see lots of the native animals, plants, and trees up close in the exhibits.They learned about taking care of nature and being responsible with camp fires. They even got to sit inside a replica of a plane the forest rangers use. We picked up lots of brochures and a map of the preserve, too.
