Journal: The house is gone, we have to move in somewhat of a hurry. Who knew it would sell so FAST? But it did so the packing begins. After 15 years the junk we've collected is magnified 15-fold. We buy out all the bubble wrap and boxes Lowes and Home Depot have to offer and hit the U-Haul store for more. Rolls and Rolls. Finally, we've got it all packed and the truck is due. After 8 hours, they decide we need another truck. Of course they already have the kitchen, the bedroom, the living room and the guest room cleared out so what we have left is the floor and a nearby restaurant. By 11:00 the next day all is gone and we say goodbye and turn in the keys. Quite bittersweet. Stop for a coffee at our local deli and head out. 8 days later we arrive in SC. 9 months later, our furniture comes out of storage and into the new house. Though we thought our nightmare was over, it was truly just beginning. The movers had been a "bit" careless and broke thousands of dollars worth of art glass, antiques, furniture -- how do you chip a marble top??? 2 years later the insurance check arrives.
One thing I now know for certain: I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER move again!!
